Please help me with details about my Brodie Helmet.
Helmet is heat stamped:
HS 101
I know HS refers to British steel supplier:
Hatfield Ltd. of Sheffield
And Helmet was made between 1916 - 1919

What I need information about is the "H" on the front of the helmet which is in a yellow or beige square. What does it stand for?
Any and all information about this particular Btprodie Helmet would be very appreciated.
Thank you, Yvonne

Posting a picture would help some. First off British made Brodie helmets were used by both the British and Americans during WWI aka the Great War. Also these same helmets were upgraded with new liners and used up to the early part of WWII by the US.

I'm not showing a Square H under US insignia, not finding it under British Insignia either, which doesn't mean anything other than I not finding it yet.

British made Brodies were also surplused out to other countries. So pictures can help narrow some information down. Sorry I can't be of more help right now.

Wondering if it might be a variation of this marking. While this one is Circle H and is for Base Hospital No. 3, Square H could be for another Hospital unit.

OMG! YES, Your Brodie helmet photo is almost identical to mine except the Black capital " H" is in a square!
Thank you, Thank you. I have spent days looking up US and British World War I insignias.

You are very welcomed. While my answer and post are not definitive proof. I still believe it might be a Hospital unit marking, as I can find no mention of a H marking in any other capacity. This will at least give you some direction to narrow down your research. Good luck.
