The Woolf Brothers Shirt Makers Mens Furnishers 700-712 main st 1118 main st Kansas City MO. Someone must have stopped in Kansas on their train ride to Cripple Creek.
The clothing store has quite a history, making clothes for Bat Masterson, Wild Bill Hickock, Buffalo Bill Cody, William Jennings Brian.
I figured an advertising piece or a compact part but their are no hinge marks. My son found it in the backyard yesterday, in an old 1890ish layer. It looks like a display item. Thanks for any input!!! Happy 14961486374941335751061.jpg1496148747178898698651.jpg0530170649_HDR-1.jpg

...really neat find......diameter ? Material ? Great , clear pics ! The back appears to have tiny cracks or bubbles and looks to have been a mirror. I have seen the tiny flecks of silvering before behind glass.

Thanks for the post. I was thinking this morning maybe it is a travel mirror. It's only an inch and a half. It is 1/4 inches tall. It looks more like a sealed container that held something. There is a pocket or circular spot inside. It is copper and glass. Not very silverish inside but golden brownish. It would be nice to see a catalog from back then. I guess a men's furnishing store would sell advertisement mirrors, don't know what else it would be. Maybe a showcase for a fancy button or something. Thanks 4x4x4. It should clean up a little better!

Nice, maybe a paper weight or mirror like you said. Ive seen later items (not same co.) that had a round whet stone on one side.
