Yay, I can't tell you how excited this coin made me. My brother and I hit one of our favorite parks today for a few hours and it was totally worth it. We started in this large field finding a few coins of clad here and there. We had already hit this field last year so there wasn't a ton, but some targets were still showing up. My brother got bored of this part of the park and wandered off to another area. I kept at it and found 2 wheaties in this area before he returned(the years are 1952 D and 1945 D). He returned with some clad and I told him about the wheaties. We kept hitting the field and I dug up a bottlecap. Right next to this bottlecap I got a good signal and figured it was trash because it read as a dollar coin on the DFX but I went for it anyways. After digging down 6-8" I hadn't seen anything, so I checked the pile of dirt on my towel and got a good signal. I plucked out the mercury dime and started shouting for my brother and we celebrated. Its a 1945-D, not a rare date but I don't care I love it. We continued to detect for a while longer and didn't find much, but it was a great day today and the perfect weather for detecting. Our totals on the day are 4 quarters, 12 pennies (2 are wheats), 1 nickel, and 5 dimes(one merc). Thanks for looking and happy hunting everyone.
