WOOHOO!!! 1st Ever SLQ!!!! second silver.

Today, the day after finding my first silver AND breaking my right pinky toe, I was scanning the front yard. I MD'd close to the street, about three feet from the curb, and got a few solid hits. I have scanned over my yard a number of times and pulled a couple of wheats and nickels.

Yesterday's 1943 Merc was an outstanding and well deserved find. Sorry about yesterdays post of 1942....Today I checked it in the full sunlight and it is, in fact, a 1943 and the mint mark is kinda botched...I still need to find my high powered looking glass.

Anyhoo, the streets in my neighborhood were re-built and lowered about two years ago. They also widened them by a foot on each side. The SLQ I found today was three feet from the new curb. The two feet of lawn up to the curb was backfill, so, I got very very lucky!!

The Discovery 1100 made a faint yet steady beep at 9"!! By the time the hole was finished it was 10" deep and 10" across. AND I DIDNT EVEN HIT IT!!!!!!! Unfortunately there is no date, but, the coin is in overall good health. Not nearly as good as that Merc though.

Thanks for looking and now I am TWICE as stoked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will....you've got yourself a Standing Liberty Quarter there..(SLQ) not a walker. It's a great coin to find, Congratulations!!

Hey WDFF, 1st..........AWESOME FINDS DUDE!!! I would hit that yard over & over, then get permission to hunt your next door nieghbors yards. If they wont let you, set the alarm & hit em at 3AM!!! Now, that is not a walker but is a Standing Liberty Quarter & it is not unusual to see the dates worn off on them. Ive never found one & am totaly stoked for ya bud! Now get out there & hunt!
