[FONT=open_sans]Commemorative medallions had been struck and souvenir books printed for a once-in-a-lifetime celebratory event to mark the Millenary of Tamworth Castle.[/FONT]
[FONT=open_sans]This was in the summer of 1913 – and the 1,000th anniversary of the founding of Tamworth Castle by Ethelfleda, 'The Lady of the Mercians', was not going to pass by unmarked.[/FONT]
