Found this among several plantation flat buttons. Looks to have number 3 or 8 on it. I'm thinking part of coverall clip. Thanks for feedback.

Call me crazy but I see a locomotive...it also looks like the button is of the studded variety (early 1900's)
I could be way off, good luck

yes, locomotive button. in the left picture, the top of it is turned to the 2 o'clock position. looks a lot like these on this link Pair Vintage Nickel Overall Buttons 5/8in,locomotive, Railroad, Steamengine | What's it worth
