Wondering about these 1834 Halfs

Hi All!
I recently picked up these two 1834 halfs,
Have some concerns about authenticity...
both ring as silver when dropped on table.
photos 1-3 show a large date/large letter variety, 32.5mm, 13.3gm, edge lettering is upright when viewed with obverse facing up.
My main issue with this coin is that I can't find a variety with the E Pluribus Unum Banner extending to the E in United on the obverse as this one does
Photos 4-6 show a small date/letter (I think), 32 mm, 13.2 gm.
the edge lettering on this is upside down when viewed obverse facing up, has 'reeding'? between the words, and a slight rotation error.
I am hoping someone may be able to enlighten me on these coins.
Opinions on grade and value are of course welcome

Nice halves!

Both are definitely real, hell, one is even plugged lending authenticity also......

Not sure about why you can't find the variety you're looking for but yes, 100% genuine Bust halves.

I see there are many varieties of this issue,
you can't view all of them without a book or subscription.
The difference in edge letter orientation is interesting,
was it just a random thing

No problem at all.......I know what you mean, if you don't have all the correct books for determining a variety (which I don't) it is a challange to figure things out with just on-line pictures.......

Interesting, when I first started looking I was fairly certain the Large Letter/Date one is a O-102 variety. But after looking for a match of the plugged one, I came close but no cigar, than I noticed, and I hope it is not my old eyes failing me, but I don't think the horizontal lines are horizontal on the second coins shield, sure look diagonal to me So, now I have doubts about both if you got them from the same source.

I also do not have the book, so doing the old eye strain on-line comparison, but I just don't think diagonal lines in the shield are legit.

My oldest Dug Silver is a '27 Capped Bust Dime, I gotta say I agree this issue is the
most regal looking Silver IMO.
Of all US Coins, I like the Flowing Hair Coppers best

I had to take another look at that shield myself
The shield in the OP does look like diagonal lines, photographic aberration
I should have noticed this, it's really obvious now that you mention it,
your eyes are fine
both actually have horizontal lines
I also learned that modern business strike edge lettered coins are randomly fed into the lettering machine, so the orietation could be to either side.
Don, do you think I can label #1 (Non Plugged) as an # O-102 ?

OK, spent some more time looking, still think O-102 for the non-plugged one and possibly O-116 for the plugged half. HOWEVER, something just not right, it is hard looking on-line through the varieties, and these are my best choices, but angles of the online photos and your photos can skew what is being seen, so not 100% sure at all. What would concern me is that I read the 1834 Bust Half Dollar has 12 COUNTERFEIT varieties, and without knowing what they look like, I would be very hesitant to say for sure on the attributions. I believe the 12 varieties are contemporary, which I suspect is somewhat collectible, but again, no idea. Wish I was more knowledgeable on the Bust Half Dollar coinage.

Some years with high numbers of different counterfeit coins: 1825 & 1826 - 7 different, 1828 - 10 different , 1829 - 9 different, 1830 - 13 different, 1831 - 11 different, 1832 - 14 different, 1833 - 23 different, 1834 - 12 different, 1835 & 1836 - 9 different, 1838 - 12 different varieties. And you think all your Bust half dollars are genuine?

Will spend some time looking through those links, the only one I knew that listed varieties was coinfacts, and after two veiws, they want $$$,
which I am short of
