Woman's Brooch?

Found in Berkeley, SC. Was almost underneath a very large tree stump. There was a small "clip" i found nearby, which looked like it would have helped it slide onto a piece of clothing, but it must have rattled out of my kubota :(

Nice find......May wanna do a bit more digging or detecting around that stump. May be more or part of a possible cache!

Is there any way to tell what era it was from or if it was worth something?

Judging by the ladies simplistic profile and curly hair-do, I would say she is a Gibson Girl brooch from the Art Nouveau era. I'm not thoroughly convinced it is a brooch because I can't see the back that well, but I think I see where there was a pin attachment. Judging by the 2 round loops at the bottom, there's a possibility it was the top to a chatelaine, but again, I can't see whether those loops are open or not. Interesting find :) Breezie

View attachment 720702

It was found separately, so I wouldn't be able to tell where it was attached, but it looked like what would be a necktie clip today would look like, with two tines that seemed like they would slide onto clothes or hair (if that makes sense). I am going to check the kubota tomorrow to see if I can find it again.
