Amazing courage in the face of such danger! Woman Stops Grizzly Attack With .25 Caliber Pistol!

This is a story of self-control and marksmanship with an itsy bitsy pistol by a woman against a fierce predator.

While out hiking in Montana with my boyfriend, we were surprised by a huge grizzly bear charging at us from out of nowhere. She must have been protecting her cubs because she was extremely aggressive. If I had not had my little Beretta Jetfire with me I would not be here today!

Just one shot to my boyfriend's knee cap was all it took. The bear got him and I was able to escape by just walking away at a brisk pace.

It's one of the best pistols in my collection……..."

Quick thinking :laughing7:

Interesting that you bring up about shooting a Grizzly with a small caliber gun, but 5 or 6 years ago a woman shot and killed a grizzly bear with a 22 caliber gun. The bear wandered north out Yellowstone Park, and was threatening and being a danger towards her children and the woman's livestock (horses). The woman lived not far from the town of Red Lodge, Mt.
She was charged by the USFWP, but I don't recall if she won her case.

Funny joke:icon_thumleft: That is completely asinine that the USFWP would even think of pressing charges against her. If she tried to "harvest" the animal with such of a low caliber firearm maybe? Certainly not for defending herself? I carry a firearm with me at ALL times when I'm bush whacking in searching for the illusive "bleep bleep" that is the nature of my hunts. The Wolf and Black Bear population's have been at an all time high in my area of Ontario with the influx of Deer into the region.

You misunderstand. They didn't care about what gun she used. She shot one of their protected, endangered bears. They'll do their best to hang her. Canada isn't the only place with stupid laws, we've got more than our share, and it gets worse every day. Right now Oregon is trying to ban hobby gold prospectors from the streams. Kuger would know better than me, but I think California has already banned dredging. I doesn't seem to end, and quite frankly that's why a lot of people are paranoid about keeping firearms. Every day our government takes away more and more, and a lot of us are sick of it.

You only have to be faster than the person you are with if an animal attacks. It pays to have fat friends! Just kidding I am fat too.

That was always our motto when we black bear hunted here in Pa. We always argued over who got to walk with a family friend who was recovering from a massive stroke . We knew we could out run him . He always got a good laugh out of it . Lots of great stories & memories from our hunting days in the Pa. woods .

Funny story . . . love the signature: "Due to the high price of ammunition there will be no warning shot."

If someone had a sign shop, ought to be able to make a bit of coin selling those online.

This cutie attacked a man in Alaska who emptied a .38 revolver into it......before it killed and ate him! (There's a pic' of what was left of him, but not for this site i guess.) The guy in the pic's killed it with a 7mm rifle. Apparently, stood on it's back legs it could have pulled you from your 2nd storey bedroom window with ease!
One reason for carrying big guns....i'll grant you this one! :tongue3:
