Twas a beautiful day in this part of Tennessee! I went with the family to see the migration of hummingbirds in Hollysprings, MS., then I got to play and work on our place this afternoon.
Thought I'd show some pics of where I've been hunting for the last year and a half. This whole 2 acre area was covered in privet when we bought the place. As you can see, I still have a lot of work ahead of me. I found all these things today by Sophie's tree house. This area drops off on all sides about 15-20 feet, I've found the largest concentration of stuff along the edges. The edge on the west (tree house side) is the last edge I haven't really combed over, I've got about a 15 by 200 foot area to clear there. Today I divided my time between mowing, burning brush, and detecting. About an hour of my detectin' time I had my youngest daughter strapped to my chest. That extra 20 pounds is a real b1t@h!
I started clearing that west edge today and I found 2 eagle cuff buttons, a bullet (44 maybe?), part of a knapsack hook, a rivet, a lead seal, an iron stake, misc. lead and some other stuff. It's nice finally being able to identify some of this when I'm pulling it out of the ground, I won't mention the stuff I chunked before I found this site and the "what is it?" thread.

Great post! Family & finds. Congrats on the CW relics. Can't wait to see what else you pull out of that area.
That shovel may come in handy for burying a diaper or two also. :tongue3:

 Congrats on the nice finds Chopper. Nice looking girls too, I can see why you like to spend time with them. Spend all the time with them as you can as they grow up so very fast!

Happy Hunting

Great finds and kids. It looks kinda tough detecting with the extra 20 pounds.

Hey Chopper!

My Son and Daughter used to go with me on hunts, and 25 years later they still remember and talk about us getting out together!

Grandson is just starting to getting old enough to go with me now!

Great Pictures!

Congrat's Chopper.....Has to be the most precious 20 pound's you ever had strapped to Ya  You've been pulling some awesome stuff off your land, hope it never end's.Keep us posted.....Good Stuff!!!

Ok, looks like I will have to come down and help you detect, you can keep all that I find except for any out of place cool Confederate belt plates or such. :D Any way nice spot you have there! It would be great to own such a spot.

Good Luck!
Steve

I appreciate all the kind words. The "home" I'm living in is a tin can matchbox, Bootybay. We've been in an old trailer for the past five years, we should be able to start building this year.
I had a decent day last Saturday but my finds this week are thinning out. I'll have to find some new spots soon but it's been fun while it lasted. Wish I could've found just one little plate here though!
I finally got some of my finds out of the pile on the piano and into a display case as someone suggested, I have another pattern ready when the next case gets here.
