With all of the VERIFIED bank and other robberies of the distant past, that a Sheriff and posse caught within a couple hours of the crime, but the money was "never found" and the robbers immediately killed, lends me to believe their was a lot of absolutely crooked, thieving Sheriffs and posse back in the day.

Similar to how it has been here for many years with the bankers and politicians.

It might not be just Back then !!! Explain to me how some on can enter a certain profession with a worth of maybe $200.000 and in 20 years be worth 20 MILLION !!

I've expressed that same opinion regarding certain Oklahoma robberies where the loot was 'never found'. Maybe not every one, but how easy would that be if everybody kept their mouths shut.

my thoughts exactly.
The underpaid Sheriff, and possee risking their lives for some fat cat banker that might not be treating them the best when they need money.
I wouldn't blame them.
That’s an interesting thought but knowing how people can’t keep their mouths shut I doubt it ever happened. A single person might have enough self control to keep his mouth shut. It would never happen with a group. Someone would slip up and let it out. Especially if they suddenly had a pocket full of money. Just my opinion.

Can you list a few examples of these verified occurrences? I be a lot depends on each specific case.

Historically most folks in high paying positions came from wealth anyway. and they had time to build wealth before that 20 year gig earning 4 mil you use as example.

They also had the best investment advisors. Perhaps lived like min wage and put the rest to good use. salary isn't the only thing in their compensation package, much of their living expenses are covered. transportation and lodging. Matching 401K. Their spouse also has good income and family wealth.

They might have other entrepreneurial things going on in addition to their main gig. Own a company, rental property, patents. Wealthy people I know do multiple things. Many of them dabble in land development.

Tell us the specific example and we can find the reasons.

The old saying goes.
"If you do a bad thing in your life, do it by yourself, or one other person.
Because anymore than that, someone will talk, and you won't know who, even if you had kept your own mouth shut."

So not backing up claims ... rather telling me to go search it until I see it your way? Major fail.
Did you bother to look at the article I linked (here, in case you missed it)? It has a rather lengthy list of names of congress persons with their change in net worth while there. It states plainly that among the top 20 gainers, quote, "The average increase in net worth in the Top 20 was 422% a year, excluding Chellie Pingree." (They excluded Chellie Pingree because her increase in wealth was by marrying a billionaire.)

My suggestion that you "pick a name" wasn't meant to imply that you should search out the data yourself, but simply that you could just about pick any name of a congress person and find they became dramatically wealthier during their tenure than their salary plus benefits would have enriched a non-congress person.

Major fail.
I answered your question by giving several specific names you asked for in that link. I can't help it if you failed to read it.

Your ballotpedia.org link was dead in the water because of XSS warnings. but just pick ONE and give me the claim. I am willing to check into at least one specific claim. State the name, and exactly what the claim is.

I’ll do better than that. Here are the top 100 names along with their increased net worth. I don’t make “specific claims” about them, that wasn’t the point. The point was people suddenly increasing their net worth by more than their income would support and I said the person who
Posted that was talking about members of Congress. You asked for names. Here are names. Lots of them. Cut and pasted from the linked article.
