It was a very nice day today so why not wake him up a little bit earlier and explore the ancient terrains together.
The first target was this Roman belt buckle, 34gr, bronze.

It was on the same path where I step every time. Today I was following his steps and that's why I was more careful on the deep targets.

This one looks like part of a Roman belt buckle. The head of a bird.25682e69b6f35d6ac4da130bad1a2175.jpg

Part of an earring.2020-12-19_20.20.48.jpg

This nice bronze arrowhead came out at almost the top of a hill. Probably 350-30 B.C.

Great day with your son Vince! Teach them young! Both buckles are fantastic! The ring and dot buckle has a swan hook? What you have IDed as an ear ring looks like a 13-14thC. book clasp to me. You really have great land under the coil.... :icon_thumright:

Thanks buddy? You are right for the book clasp. They say there was an ancient church somewhere in the area but there are no signs of it, so it makes sense. The second buckle is an example that I found on web.

Super Finds! Hope your son had as much fun as you did. Thanks for sharing with us.

Good day out with the son.

I like the buckle the best, really nice condition & patina.

Yeap, Westfront beat me to it, its a Book Clasp circa 14th C.

Congrats on the buckle, top shelf.
So did your son enjoy the day?

He's looking forward to the next weekend :)

Stellar finds as usual brother! The Roman swan buckle is Banner worthy for sure! :occasion14:

Fantastic finds - it's great to see kids out in the field doing something instead of staying home and playing video games !

You 2 make a great team!

Awesome finds, Congrats and thanks for sharing... "D"

Great bunch of finds. Love the bird head buckle. A couple more years and your son will have a detector in his hand!
