So want to find out anything i can about this button. Was found in western ma. All i could think of was a witches button from back in the late 1700s. Any info will be super appreciated D686CBF8-EA0C-44E8-A86E-215D12CE1C4F.jpeg48F5A722-2395-43ED-82E1-A44DE02D2591.jpeg

Early 19th century flat button from England, formerly gilt.

The Pentagram does not necessarly mean evil, think of hex signs and the like. Having that said, I also have never seen such a design, seems rather unusual.

Star and shamrocks button! Not witches but maybe Irish. :4leafclover: Very lucky!

Namxat is correct. Late 18th to early 19th C. That was around the time of the Irish Rebellion (1798) and "the wearing of the green" shamrock on the lapel (to represent the Holy Trinity for Irish Catholics). The back likely says "Extra Rich Treble Gilt". British made.
