So now you have a wireless head set for less then 50 bucks. Does this sound right? Am I missing something?

Be careful with certain wireless headphones and make sure the operating frequency does not interfere with your metal detector's frequency. I had a set of Sentry wireless headphones that killed the depth on my Tesoro because of the frequency it was transmitting on. I also had a Fisher that I used it on and it actually helped with the depth. So if you notice any significant changes I would discontinue use. It was well worth it on my Fisher. I didn't have to worry about that cord getting in my way. HH :icon_thumleft:

Not sure about that particular setup, but if it works for you, then that's an awesomely creative way to get rid of the wire...I've got the Spectrasound wireless ones for the V3I and I love em.....Put a AA charger in the car so ill always have fresh batteries when needed.....

If your detector is insensitive enough to tolerate a wireless transmission nearby it couldn't hurt.

That setup should work fine. There are people putting kits like that together and selling them on the forums, check the classifieds. The bluetooth 2.4 Ghz should not interfere with your AtPro. I am in the process of getting a set for myself. Make sure the headphones have a volume control, since the detector doesn't.

Well, I have stumbled across this solution which is well proven by several other guys using it on theirs. It's not the least expensive route, however it works fantastic and is well made.

TDK WR700's include the paired transmitter and high end headphones. 30 hours of use on a charge too! Now I am going to have to shop for the best price.

There are some types of wireless radio transmissions that cause a lag in the signal reaching your ears so that you've already gone over the target before you hear the signal and I think it is bluetooth that was considered the culprit.

I purchased a set of TDK WR700HP wireless headphones from newegg.com, item # 26-131-003 and I've had zero problems with them on my whites XLT or GMT machines. You will need the Right Angle adapter from mini to 1/4" from Radio Shack and it is a joy to not have the cord in the way. Before purchasing from newegg check to see if they have them on sale, get the coupon on line and you've just made a really good deal. The company was really good to deal with!! Note: use velcro on the sending unit and on the detector box as this will keep the sending unit up and out of harms way!

I had one a few years ago, and it lost pieces of signal; terrible in MDing. Most of our signals are very short.

BTW, Bluetooth signals are in the gigaherz band, so they shouldn't interact with the MD.
