Very windy today, and not a lot of signals left but managed to find a few things. The 1942 & 1947 nickels were found in the same hole with a rusty nail. Picked up a couple of flat buttons with one having an “Imperial Orange Gilt” back mark. My find of the day is the 1864 Indian, but no “L” on this one. I have no idea what the heavy solid brass piece is. It has a threaded post on it and seems to fit my hand perfect. Seems too heavy to be a part to a lamp. Thanks for looking!

Very Cool!!! Congrats!!!

I believe you have a type of harness mounting; similar to the one shown.
They were iron or brass, depending on maker, etc.

You are 100% on point! I’ve dug plenty of the round ones but have never seen this type. Thank you for the response. I hate when I know I’ve found a decent relic but can’t identify it.

Nicely done :) How did you find out where to hunt in the winter wheat field ?

I’ve been hunting this 100 acre field which has an early 1800 home on it for 2 years. I’ve honed in on about 20 acres that the majority of finds have come from.

Congrats on some nice finds. I am glad Blackfoot58 identified that harness related item for you, as I found a couple of them before and had no idea.
