Winnebago co.

If people have been there you are likely to find relics, coins, and jewelry along with a lot of trash. My favorite spots are the yards or houses built in the 1800s the older the better especially those on side streets. There are so many old parks in your area, enough to keep you busy for years. Look for the older parks.

Well...Do I just go to somebody's house from that area and say, "Hey, I'm digging for valuables, can I use your property"!!
The parks you referred to are a no go according to the laws I guess.

How would you react to someone who asked you that? When i cold knock, I introduce myself and politely ask if I can detect their yard. People will either say no or yes. If they give permission, I ask if they have lost something of value I should keep my eyes open for (if I find it, I offer it to them as a thank you). I avoid knocking where the yards are meticulously manicured. Be sure to practice your digging technique prior to door knocking. As for parks in Rockford many are not off limits I would definitely try my luck at the fair ground park.

I'm not sure how I'd react to that question where we live, to be honest! But I've never thought about doing as such and I guess it wouldn't hurt in the right place, so ty. I'll give it a shot!
