Another item found in my brothers 1954 house. First thought is the aluminum wrapping around the top of a wine bottle. Has a lot of writing on it. Looks like “Hillside...Hoo..A...To Be...After...”.

Thanks for all your knowledge guys!

Looks to me like it says "Hillside Dairy Chocolate Flavored Milk" and then "Not to be Used After" plus some other stuff.

Wow amazing! I wish I could read the rest but great ID. Any idea on which Hillside Dairy? As expected it’s a common company name. Thanks

There was one located in Cleveland Heights, a mere 5.5 miles from my brothers neighborhood

Yes, that would be the one. What I can see on the cap is:

HILLSIDE DAIRY
SEALED AND
PASTEURISED
CHOCOLATE
FLAVORED MILK
NOT TO BE USED AFTER
[Some kind of date coding, possibly ending …DAY]
[a longer phrase, possibly ending …TED or …IED]
[another long phrase, possibly ending …HOME]

Then, around the bottom edge there’s some smaller letters followed by HGTS. O. in larger letters. I believe the small letters would have been surrounded by larger letters on both sides, which together would have read CLEVELAND HEIGHTS (in abbreviated form, with 'HGTS' being the abbreviation for ‘Heights’ and then ‘O’ for ‘Ohio’.

The Hillside Dairy was located at 1418 Warrensville Center Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio from 1st July 1932 until its closure in 1999. Here it is in 1940:

Yes! I read some of that but wow you’re amazing! Thank you so much. Of course the date is missing but that’s relic hunting. Obviously the house being 50s not terribly old. I’m sure it would have been a nice cap seeing it complete. I wonder if there’s a picture somewhere online
