Terri, Donna (Nana40) and I went back to the place where I found the
buffalo nickle to try and find the bookend Terri lost that matches the
one I found on 11/30.
Came out with an interesting mix of finds. I couldn't believe the key was
still in the windup toy.

A couple of honkin' big marbles. They are in bad shape and flaking.

ew!!! looks like theve been in a fire...the one with most left looks like a ravenswood novelty co. marble...the swirly white is a dead giveaway....they would be nice if they were in better shape...but theyre crackle marbles now....

The wind up toy looks like it was part of a train engine with those style of wheels.
A lot of wind up toys had keys that were not removable.
Super looking finds !!

DiggerBug,
Great hunt, very nice variety. You're not going to believe this, but I've found two of those same items too. :D
The Model T piece that Montana Jim ID I just dug yesterday.
The electric toy I dug back in March. I never thought I'd see another one like it. You proved me wrong today. ;)
Very cool.

Hello Diggerbug. About the marbles, when I was a kid (40+ years ago) , we use to heat marbles in a fire until really hot and then put them in cold water to make them crack inside and look really cool. Some times a piece of the marble would break off like in your marbles. Just a thought and possibility. Really interesting finds I enjoy finding old and odd things almost as much as coins . Keep beeping.
