I'm in the trades and a lady I know was putting her moms house on the market.she had a garage sale and many items were left unsold,I was the guy fixing drywall and painting etc...,well the last day I was there this painting sat in the corner,I asked her what she was gonna do with it,she said I could have it if I wanted it,well that was a no brainer,I liked it,it was very bright and just wonderfull to look at...I don't think they ever put it in a nice frame, was in a cheap gold metal frame, just wondering what it's worth...retirement?...lol

I found: Dalhart Windberg (born 1933) - Dalhart Windberg is active/lives in Texas. Dalhart Windberg is known for romantic, light filled landscape, still life and marine painting.

I found a bunch of "prints" from $10 to $85 BUT you said that yours isn't a print. Here is just one hit (not yours) but a painting non-the-less: Dalhart Windberg - "Colorado Stream" - 24 x 36 - Oil on Canvas - $21,500 I also just found some of his paintings around $3,000 and lower - crap shoot so far. Maybe you can take it to a local art studio...

ZIMG_20160917_105936.jpg thanks for your time to respond to my post,I guess his signature is always in red,but this is not.. I'm not sure if it's real or fake..thanks again for your time

It is doubtful that his signature is always in red! I would imagine that depending upon the colors in the normal "Signature Field/Area", he more than likely used different colors. However, it is quite possible that he transitioned from signing paintings in white to red or from red to white over time. Although he is best known for his American Landscape paintings as well as still life and figurative paintings of life in Mexico, Spain and Greece, the painting that you received for free, has a European Landscape appearance to it, at least to my perspective.
