wilmington hunting grounds

anyone have a suggestions for hunting the wilmington cape fear area of nc ...ive been to the beaches kinda gets alot of detecting traffic there
thought id try some relic hunting ,,,any thoughts would be apreiated

I have never been detecting here... but I found an 1863 map that looks interesting... I would try along River Rd (SR 1100) from 117 south to Independence Blvd. Here is the old map...

Of course you need to check for property ownership, get permissions, etc first... I don't know what is there now but it looks like there were some old earthworks batteries there.

the back road around carolina beach to kure beach along the river side some old plants from wwII

wilmington /is a good place to detect and yes other do detect ther (a lot) . But when I go there I never leave empty handed (not just pull taps). 1 suggestion from someone i met detecting there /go early and late /hit the beach after those high beach go'er days . hit it hard! The u max should work out fine it has with mine! diggstown
