Will super glueing a excel knob on work?

You broke it already??? :laughing7:

Super glue might work, but it voids the warranty. Either send it in or get those metal knobs with the stainless steel set screws. Some stores carry them. I've never had one of mine come off an it is about 7 yrs. old I think.

My self i would never super glue on a knob when you can like sandman says get new knobs at a very cheap cost. I never lost a knob on my Excalibur when i had it and have never lost a knob on my Sovereign.

Don't know if your machine is one that has the knobs that can pull off, leaving a little rod there - if it does, while I'm getting a new one, I'd wrap some pipe tape (not pipe dope) around the rod, and push the knob back on. It will hold until you get a new one, and it will not void the warranty. (Just make sure to take it back out when the new knob comes.)

I bought mine used. It came with two radio shack knobs with set screws. works great

Follow Sandmans advice (as usual ). I have 2 Excals and both of them have larger knobs with setscrews (I use brass and ss allen set screws) on the threshold, pinpoint and sensetivity controls....Work great.....

Minelab says it is bad, that you can scratch or create a burr on the shaft, I have been using the after market knobs for over 3 years with no problems at all, if you send a unit in, take the knob off first...

First thing i did after ordering my Excal II was buy 5 smaller knobs with brass set screws from ebay for $10 (plus a velcroed on cushion for the headset while i was there).
Pop the yellow caps off, unscrew little nuts with longnosed pliers,on with the new knobs...5 minute job! :headbang:
Heard so many things about the useless Minelab knobs..thought i'd get the jump on it before the problems started.
