Wild and Wonderful West Virginia!!! A few CW firsts for me.

Civilman called early this morning, and we decided to chance the rain and hit the fields.
We got lucky and the rain missed us all day.
I had a great day, for me.
My first .58, and it is a Washington Arsenal with a star inside. A dropped bullet.
My first fired .58.
My first .69 musketball.
My first Williams Cleaner (?) Only one ring?
An Enfield and another fired .58.

Definetley a good day for ya Ty and Congrat's on all your first.So far out of that field there has been 8 different bullet type's recovered.....We'll get back when they decide to mow the 3' stalk's of corn down,maybe even sooner.Gotta go for "type 9" Cool dig's Ty......

I wish I knew more about CW bullets. . . the only bullets I've found so far are modern stuff (.22's & copper-jacket .45's)

The (cleaner?) looks awesome!

I'm sure it's a cleaner. Just can't find an example with one ring.

Very nice finds! I've only found 1 of the washington arsenal. I agree, the other looks like a williams cleaner type 3 but I've never seen one with just one ring. Keep up the good work!

the only rounds I've found came from a 380 semi, don't see too many CW bullets around here. Nice finds

Thats a nice bunch of bullets, I dug a bullet out of a hut at the last Div8 in Oct 07. It also had a star in the base. Its a nice find.

Yep it's a williams cleaner. The bottom piece and "the stem" are made of zinc and would help clean off the softer lead from the inside bore. It looks like I can see 2 or 3 rings in the actual lead part.

It also looks like it was rammed in hard or had a nother bullet put on top of it before it was fired. That would explain the pointed nose. Try putting the washington arsenal bullet on top and see what I mean.
