Wife brings homes "cache"

My wife was a teller a couple years ago and she brought home some coins that an old man wanted to exchange for new coins. There were 4 tellers on the line and they bought the old coins at face value back from the bank. Her take was 28 silver quarters, 6 mercs, 3 buffalo, and 41 indians. So that cost her about $8.16...not a bad investment.

Not bad at all!! I have a teller who looks for stuff for me, and I went in today and picked up a peace dollar, 2 90% silver halves, 15 40% silver halves and 15 buffalo nickles, all for face value. I helped her out by buying some Ike dollars that were turned in (she really did not want to mess with them. I really didn't want them but she helped me so I will help her. I can always spend them.). It helps to make friends with your teller at the bank!!!

Wow, unbelievable! I wonder if the guy had any idea or if he just didnt care. That is a cool little story, nice find.

My wife also works at a bank and a few months ago discovered 5 to 10 rolls of silver dimes from mercs to liberties. At the time her dad was still alive and collecting coins. Mother in Law has them now.
