I was just talking to my friend on the phone when I saw this post. I could tell he wanted to come out to the farm. I called him back and told him tomorrow would be good. He wants me to work on his son's computer. I told him he would have to eat leftover Mexican or stir fry. He's divorced, so he thought that either sounded really good. The wife is making chocolate cake (from scratch) for a niece's birthday. He thought that sounded even better. I think he comes out just for the wife's cooking. LOL

I know gold when I see it

I didn't even get around to eating the skegti. But the beam was good!

Don't drink any more since it triggers vertigo, but "back in the day"
I always had a pint of Yukon Jack on board the drift boat, and in
the cupboard. Daniels would do in a pinch, but it won't warm the
"cockles of your heart" on a 38F morning the way Yukon does...:laughing7:

my dad used to drink IW Harper back in the day but its hard to find. ive only had it a few times. Buffalo Trace, Johnny Walker, and Jim Beam are what i normally drink if im out of beer. in Georgia its beer or bust!

try --sailor jerry" rum -- 92 proof but still very, very smooth --

I used to drink Jack until I discovered good single malt scotch. Now trying to drink Jack is like trying to swallow a bobcat!

Ya Dizzy ,I drink much of it I get vertigo too.:laughing7:
A taste born of a hoary night gave me vertigo three times one night years ago. Wheeew. Enough of that.

Yea judging by the thread name I should've waited until this morning to post it lol

It was supposed to be "wife asked me to cook"

I cant drink alcohol sooo.....
Once when I was 12 or 13 my pop made some muscadine wine and put it in a koolaid jug in The fridge to cool off. My friend and I drank the whole jug discoursing that this grape koolaid burned and tasted funny. I'll never forget how angry my dad was about that. And also listening to him try and explain the situation to my friends parents over the phone.

nowadays your dad would have been reported to the police. lol

duckwalk, some of the best best color around here was actually under the old blockbuster parking lot .before they started ,I used to park at wendy's go down the hill. There was a small stream that had really good color ,most was small -typical v.r. gold (dust) but there was an occasional rice sized piece.but that little creek had color everywhere. 30-50 colors per pan sometimes.shortly after I found it they started working on the parking lot .never got to put my dredge in there.man that would have been a good spot.there were a lot of arrowheads there, and some nice pieces of kyanite. some parts of the swamp behind mirror lake are good as well.getting hard to get to some places now.

I moved here long after blockbuster went out of business. Is it where Sherwin Williams is? There's a stream right behind there

do you know where stick's is .toward 61 might be a att store or something like that.the stream is no more. the parking lot is on top of it. you might get color in the ditch beside 61.

I miss drinking...I unfortunately have developed an allergy to alcohol that causes me to break out in handcuffs. Nowadays the only buzz I get is from a good day out digging or a few hours at the gym. :)
