looks like an old concho or a lapel pin minus the pin, the back side looks like there was something heat fused on back, which is now missing, thats my guess.

I could see it being an antena base. Way too heavy for a pin. The place I found it has not yeilded anything newer than 1941 as far as coins and two crotal bells that date to the late 1800's. I know from the neighbors that this land was formally a field and the house that sits on it was built in the early to mid 1800's. There is also a barn that was built in 1910. Hope this info helps with further ID or confirmation of current theory.
