It looks to be the side hinge on an antique lift top school desk. :) Breezie

Those types of hinges were used for many years on desk tops, not just for school type desk. The desk pictured below is from the 1930s/early 40's era. :) Breezie

its either part of an emergency brake or part of a automatic transmision shift linkage

I like the school desk theory but, it could also have been a throttle control for a mower, tiller, or some type of engine. :icon_scratch:

I was thinking that it was a window regulator for the small rear windows in a 1930 auto. But it also looks like automotive brake gear. :icon_scratch: ?

I might try to see what else comes up from the area when the ground thaws better... Maybe something related to it will come up

This is not a good example pic it's not like the ones I remember, but could it pe part of a foot petal starter off of an old gasolene powered washing machine? Kinda of looks like the ones I remember.
