hi guys, new to the forum and to prospecting. can anyone tell me why there isnt gold in nw alabama? we have beautiful flowing creeks and waterfalls. the terrain is semi-mountainous. i would think it would be good for gold. ive been out quite a few time now panning and sluicing and cant find a speck of gold. even finding some chunks of quartz and black sand, but no gold. any help and explanation would be greatly appreciated.

thanks, jim

wrong side of the fault zone .try n.e.

Dont know if its true, but i have spoke to some folks who say there is silver in the creeks of northwest alabama. NO gold tho, its on the wrong side of the state, The gold runs from around 30 miles east of birmingham northeastward into georgia. Check out the alabma gold camp in craigford, alabama.
