Went to the local park today that I have hunted and hunted and it still surprises me every time I go.? I found $2.12 in Clad and 2 silver rings.? Since the end of March I have found 15 rings and almost all of them silver.? Do people wear silver more than gold?? My wife says I just go to parks that either young or people that can't afford gold go.? I would like to know what is every one elses Silver to Gold Ring ratio.

I have a 2:1 ratio on silver rings to gold....12 silvers, 6 golds. I get tired of digging pulltabs, so I am sure I have past a few gold pieces.

I do not count silver rings in my finds. Not to be obtuse, just because I find so any that I keep myself modest by only counting gold. I too find alot of silver. This year I'm up to only 4 golds. Silvers, however? 15. I haven't been as much this year because of our new twins and the starting of a new bussiness. Hopefully I can get up to my average of 10 golds by new years. Good luck and HH! Chris

i would think because silver is more affordable and it rings up like a dime or a quarter so you would normally dig it up.Me and knorrski"s ratio this year is 47 silver rings to 4 gold rings.

BigRig is correct on the ratio of finds due to where they ring up at. Also being a more affordable metal explains why there are more silver rings lost than gold rings. Another factor is the mother church had only made it tradational for wedding rings to be of gold about 100 or so years ago. Before that a wedding ring could be of silver or even brass! The purpose of the wedding ring of gold was to be symbolic of the marriage being as eternal as gold is lasting.

Back to ratio question: I have found one gold ring, and about 20 silver rings.

I have about 10 silver rings, and only found 2 gold and the gold were very little bands. And only 2 of the silver rings were actually mens ring.

10-4 here....rodger that....... ;D

I'm 3 and 0 in the silver/gold catagory! Found 3 sterling rings over the summer, but no gold....yet! I do have 2 nice gold rings in my treasure chest, but they were not detecting finds!

I guess that I am in the minority here for now. Over the last three weeks, besides numerous brass and iron rings, I have found three gold and only one silver. So, 3 to 1 in favor of gold. I am sure that that will not hold out.

Wow Parrothead, way to go! Where do you hunt that you find more gold than silver?

Nice finds there. I personally have only found one gold ring.
