why is there....

I think some of it is loyalty to a different brand so they could knock what ever isn't their favorite brand. Bounty Hunter also has the people talking against it calling it a cheap of $*&#. I guess it makes some lowlifes feel superior.

Probably because the ACE has features available on their machine that cost 3 x as much, and also produces as well too. That would make anyone irritable :violent1:

I must say that I have an ace 250 and its great for the price. One would think that other companys would step up and deliver something of that cailber, but none have. I Think it must have been named the pq38 space modulator "LOONEY TUNES" at sometime, because it capable of taken over the World LOL. Just in the company alone look at the evoultion from the treasure ace 300 to it, Leaps and bounds. I have Had Mine for a Month or so and very user friendly. Just wanted to thank Garrett by saying that the have a nice machine and would recomend it to new and old. My 8 year boy wonder was able to master it and that any great for any father /son to start.High tech batman gear thats simple to use ,just grab and go. I would like to say dont worry about the other guys, their loss. GOD BLESS and good luck Monty

I don't see it............

I see very few "haters" of the Ace 250. Probably the most stated problem new people have is pinpointing. I have never had this problem. I can PP in the center of the coil or behind the front inner coil. I really think if Garrett made a 6, 8 and 10 inch concentric coil for the Ace's they would sell a ton of them. Most people are used to using a round coil. All they would have to do is convert coils they are already making to fit the 250/150's I like using the 4.5 inch sniper coil all the time. But you can't cover the ground very fast. I would be the first to buy a 6 inch concentric coil to mount permanently on my 250.

Re: why is there....Fisher's stepped up to the plate

>>>would think some other companies would step up and<<<<

Fishers did just that. They put out the F-2. Many people thought that would put the lights out on the Ace 250.
That was a pleasant daydream for some, but the truth is the F2 turned out to be problematic. There were raveing reports about the F-2 but there were as many negative reports to offset the good ones. I don't recall seeing that happen when the Ace 250 came out. Many people think the F-2 is to jittery. Others think it's "junky"
looking. Still others think the coil cord needs a lock to ensure the coil does not disconnect from the control box.
The depth is excellent say some owners. Others complain that the machines beeps consistently not realizing that its the recovery speed! The F-2 IS fast, but so is the Ace in my opinion. The list of negatives vs the positives go on and on. I'd go to www.findmall and read the comments by current owners.
The Ace 250 still holds the title of being probably the best machine made for the $212.

I love my ace!!! And savin for the sniper!!

Fishstank

Just picked up my sniper coil today! Can't wait to hit the park and give it a run, see if I find more good stuff amongst the trash! If I were Garret I would sell this as a package with the ACE, like they do with the larger coil.

Took the sniper coil to the park today. Must say I was very pleased. I was able to find and separate targets in areas I couldn't before. Wasn't out long, and didn't find much, but I could tell there was a vast improvement! Was able to locate and center on my targets much easier. Found a modern arcade token and an old carnival token right next to each other!
