it bothers me that most on here gotta talk bad about x-brand detectors......sure the top of the line detectors do more.....detect deeper and give the owner braggin rights i guess.....but its honestly about going out.....finding what you can and having a good time....i use an old radioshack 2000 that i bought in a yard sale yrs ago.....i have found a lot of stuff.....and my detector has been paid for many many times. i have posted a few finds over the yrs. but many i chose not to. i love seeing the post for the high-end detectors....dont get me wrong....but try to not talk down to someone for chosing the cheaper detectors. if u dont put the coil over it.....it wont be found. im sure i have missed quite a few things.....but honestly...i have used a couple of high-end detectors....they go deeper....and seperate trash better....but i like to just cherry pick and move on.....like the harley vs honda.....it aint what ya ride.....its if ya ride....its all good

It doesnt matter at all to me what i use just as long as what i use gets the job done. Thats all that counts. It kills me the amount of people that feel they have to keep up with the jones's in any and all aspects of their lives. Its absurd and pathetic. Follow the herd people follow the herd.

Well said Thumper. It's not the tool your using but how you swing it..... wait a minute, that came out wrong. :tard:

I use "top of the range" detectors because when i started, 3 years ago, that's what i could afford. Unless i'm messing around, i don't put anyone down for which detector they can afford or choose to use, we all obviously find stuff with whatever we use, and that's what this game's all about!
I get the same questions and idiotic comments from the general public as someone with a cheap detector does, the only difference is the shock on peoples faces when they ask ..."and how much did that cost then?" :laughing9:

I've only been detecting for 20 years. Every time I go out, I always think of my motto: All I want is the opportunity to go out....anything found is a bonus. Many times I cover my previously detected areas for 2 to 3 hours and find only a penny or so. Do I care? Nope, I had the opportunity.

it should not matter what you swing, but like with everything in life---people have their opinion on it! :)

then you get the ---that detector stinks, buy this one. and someone else says, oh that one is no good, buy this one it is best.
then someone else says, oh I had that one, I hated it. then I bought this detector and it is best HAHA

swing what you want. and just ignore the people who try to put down your detector. all you can do.

I've put a lot of thought into this thread and what it come down to Is...

The more you spend on a detector, means the more your going to need to spend on knee pads.

Swinging is smiling!

When I swing I ....... oohhh, we're talking about metal detectors I see :tongue3:

OK, if I were able to hook a battery to a tin can and hear something I'd be happy :laughing7: I could care less what other people use, or what they paid for it.. Big Whoop-de-dooo :laughing7:

Like most said, it's about the hobby, going out having fun and maybe finding something.. Look at my totals, I have a wheat penny :headbang: :tongue3: Then again, I haven't really detected for some time, but hope to get back into next year... That's tomorrow for you people without calendars :tongue3:

P.S. Don't talk smack about my lower end metal detector, because someday, I might make someones expensive one mine :laughing7: Just kidding, I'll have more fun following you around and irritating you.. That's what I do best :headbang:
