Like most, I enjoy a good challenge; especially if it involves treasure. When I first started my search, I thought…all I need is the correct document for Cipher 1 so I started searching for books from the early 1800s. In 2021, I found a private library in Virginia and arranged to look at the books.

Much to my surprise, inside one of the books was a sketched that looked like me (See attached photo). Along the left edge of the sketch was the name “Thomas”. I googled “Beale Definition” and found Beale means “Handsome Man”. I put these two clues together and concluded it meant “Thomas [Handsome Man] Beale”.

I took this as a sign to pursue the Beale Treasure.

Do you have a story?

haha...nice story.

Not really a story. But my ex-wife loves mysteries. A big fan of Perry Mason, She is always doing cryptograms, word searches, etc. Because of certain conditions, she is staying at my house while I travel for work. Watching the dogs.
So, here on TN, I came across some of the post and figured this would be perfect for her to do while she is here. She has some memory loss so this will keep her mind active.

I myself like research investigation and trying to solve the impossible.

BTW, on the back cover of same book was a signature of James Beale. In another book I found the signature of George Beale. James and George were cousins of Thomas Beale from Botetourt county, VA i mentioned in a earlier post.

The most famous signature was of Andrew Jackson.
