Why can I not chat

I ahve been going to the chat board and when I try to chat and ask questions I can not text anything. Can someone tell me why I can not chat. When I try to type a message my screen goes away. WHY

Might need to check your firewall program or pop-up blocker. Maybe someone else has better suggestions. It's probably a program or lack of a program on your end.
