I'm sitting here watching TV.
Scott Dixon on 'This is Your Life' Kiwi version.

He is one of my bestest ever sporting heroes, right up there with Sir Edmund Hillary, Sir Peter Blake and Valentino Rossi


So, who's your Sporting Hero?

as far as I know they have Never Rushed into A burning Building
Or saved anyone simply as an unpaid Untrained Heroic Act.

Kiwi didn't ask who is the most heroic of your heros, so I gotta think he actually meant sportsmen. I'm gonna say Michael Jordan. Haven't seen moves like that since he retired.

That's what I was thinking Cache. "Sporting Hero" is all he was looking for.

And I have to agree with you on Michael Jordan. I met him, as well as his mother and sister back in '95. He has class and you can thank his mama for that! She told me he wasn't allowed to bounce the ball unless his school work was done and his grades were good. So we know he did good in school.

In my early teenage years I ate, slept, and breathed baseball. My favorite player of all time was Hank Aaron.

Well I thought this thread was starting to unravel there for a moment but we got back on track

Jeff, my dictionary defines a Hero also as "one who is idealized for possessing superior qualities in any field". You don't have to rush into a burning building to be a Hero.
In fact I would consider every Paralympian for example, as a Sporting Hero in their own right. They all deserve a medal.

Keep'em rolling in folks. I'm learning heaps.
