That is a good question and a difficult one for me to answer. I don't use the word "friend" loosely as we are lucky to have maybe 1 or 2 real friends outside of family. I think I am very lucky in having 6 of what I would call friends. The rest are just all acquaintances. Out of those 6, there are only 2 that I am extremely close to, as the others are a good distance away and would be harder to reach out to in time of their needs.

3 of the friends are childhood friends, the other 3 have been friends between 15-30 years. Again, everyone else is just an acquaintance.

My Father for sure. Lost him last year. I have one really great friend him and I have been friends for 26 years, and Im only 29. Been through a lot together and still friends.

I had a best friend and he and I used to play cards for hours after my wife passed. Wed sit up and drink beer until the early mornin and play cards and shoot the bull. Did this for ten years since we was both retired. Then he passed on to and now i have only my dog and my detector for company. I figure it happens to all uf us so we might as well keap enjoying every day cause we never know when it will happen.

My Pop was unquestionably my very best friend, always had my best interest at heart. We lost the ol' guy a year ago last March & we were completely devastated. I miss his crazy sense of humor, all the jokes he would pull........I miss his voice on the phone. I really went off the deep end fer a while after he passed, didnt think I could deal with not having him in my life. Turns out it is very difficult but somehow he is still there for me, he is still influencing my life in a very positive way. I guess I can say that my Pop is still my best friend.

It would have to be my wife. She means everything to me. Heck, I even chose her over her ex fiance. He was my best friend.

Don't really have a best friend. In my family, relations were thought of differently. Your uncles and aunts were the same as your other dads and moms, and your cousins were the same as your brothers and sisters. Perhaps my best friend right now would be my little buddy Camilla, who thinks I'm a pirate. The pirates she saw on the river in Colombia dressed just like me.

This is easy

I have a friend that shares my interests. An intelligent person that I can talk with about just...anything. We enjoy looking for rocks, metal detecting, digging in the dirt, researching our family history. We go to garage sales together.

The best thing is she is my wife.
