This chap saw me checking out his harem, and a bull elk in mid-rut
is likely to do just about anything. Here, he had just finished bugling
at me, and then came over for a "whiff" to see if he could mate with
my truck!
Rain was coming down in buckets, so I had to drive up as close as
I could, then shoot the pics out the open window. Being out on the
ground at that distance would have been a very bad idea...

There are several large herds of Elk that hang out in our general area, and
although they are 100% wild critters they still like to hang out in some local
pasture areas. Basically, they go where they want to...
