I bow to your reference abilities, PBK! ;D

Thanks, dg39... but when somebody stumbles as often as I do, eventually he's bound to stumble onto something.

Thanks again, PBK !!

What about two other coins? What country they may be from?
If I knew that, I'd see in catalogue. Without this info, life is too short do "dig in this book". :-[ ;)

I dug in my coins catalog for 2-3 hours! Saw similar coins from Egypt,Afghanistan,Algeria,India and Turkey. But found none identical to yours. India alone has hundreds of different rupees like your smaller coins. When I was done I guessed they were from Egypt.

Doc,
I have a number of very old coins from the Mid East. My son was in Desert Storm with the 7th Cav and traded for them. One is from 180 AD from the town Of Kabul. This is the Modern year and not the Islamic calender. Have no idea what to do with them so I keep them in a box in the closet. I do not want to even go there-Have enough problems with the gold and silver coins I have3 :-\ :-\.

That's Persian, (DUH), but in particular that looks like Farsi, which is either a dialect or a language in its own right.
But then again I'm rooting for these people since I'm 1/4 Polish.
