It looks like a gold gilted copper golf ball. (size of a marble) You can see where it may have been attached to something. This thing has something inside, like another metal ball which rattles on the inside.

What do you think?

I have no idea, but, in the first pic, it looks like the plug that was put in to close the ball after the 'something' was inserted. Punch that sucker out and let's see what's inside!!!

I think it is the ball of a decorative ladys hat pin. My Mom had a few antique ones in a pin cushion. They originaly had sequens on the outside or maybe glued in stones.

Spherical-headed dress pin, but there is also a possibility that it might be the bottom half of a filigree hanging button.

If the ball is the size of a penny, is it a trophy for midgets? I think it's way too small to fit on a trophy. I still feel it is some type of finial, which could be the finial for the hatpin, hanging button, or keychain or the likes. Also, I thought the holed or dimples in a golf ball were round and not hexagon. Breezie

LOL Chug. Mmm, I just realized I was not politically correct by saying midget instead of little people, so apologies, but I've never claimed to be PC. People need to get over themselves . . .let me step off the soap box before I open a can of worms.
