It looks like one of those incense burners a priest uses. I only saw it on TV. I have never been in a Catholic church.

It's possibly a sceptre. Assuming 1/2" grid squares it's approximately 16" long.

Magic wand, I win, one corvette please. Idk what it is, it does look religious, perhaps orthodox Christian ??

I agree that it has a religious look to it. It's not an incense burner. Maybe half of a scroll holder?

Welcome Fargo, interesting find!

I think religious too but maybe a book mark. That would definitely cure a baby for sticking his fingers in his mouth, LOL!

Can anyone tell us just how wide the scrolls of the Tora are?

Many thanks!

What about some kind of Papal edict or message? You say found in the Ukraine, how? Forgive me but the Ukraine would be along the route between the Eastern and Western Roman Empires? Perhaps that old but more likely an artifact secreted away from the Nazis. Perhaps buried by someone who never made it back?
Best wishes!

Researching something else and saw this:

hanging lamp chain bar.jpg
Art nouveau hanging lamp chain part. I didn't find an exact match but saw many hanging lamps with long, solid "links" in the chain.

I see this as a more likely candidate than the baby rattle, but I don't know what to call the 'bar links' in the chain to do additional searching.
