Can you share any background history on this piece?
It doesn't look like a detecting find, based on the colour of the metal, it looks to have been stored in a damp basement or garage?

The design of the attachment pin looks to be old, probably from the 1920s or 30s.

Agree. Likely a pre-WWII item. 1928 - 1938.

I saw a pin on ebay. Similar image but porcelain on brass. The seller was asking $500 US!
