Looks like there could be some info under all that crud, but maybe not? I don't know much at all about old flat buttons, but my thoughts are yours is 18th to maybe early 19th century in age. Could be something very rare for all I know? Hopefully someone who is more knowledgeable with reference books will come along to assist in solving this? I definitely would like to find out what it is.Here is the back with no discernible backmarks. Shank is broken off, but the nubs are still there.
