Whites XLT was shutting off for no reason, now it wont turn on.

Hold the on button in and remove the battery, Keep the button in and install the battery. Remove bat again with button still in. Install battery normally without holding button. This has also happened to me when the coil connector was removed and not connected.

I have owned several XLT's great detectors. I would almost bet that if you pull the battery out and very careful pull both of the metal contacts in the bottom of the box up to where they will contact the battery again you will be in business. They get bent down over time have had this problem with mine before. Let us know how you come out.
