White's XL Pro QUESTIONS????????

I have come across a XL Pro, w/950 coil, it has an analog readout, and headphones for sale and I have a couple of questions....

Is $500 a good price for it?

Do these machines make good relic detectors?

What kind of depth do theses machines get?

Re: White's XL Pro QUESTIONS????????

The XL Pro is a very good detector. I feel there are better coil options available than the 950. I didn't find the depth that great in my rather high mineralized soil conditions. I think there are better detectors available for relic hunting, but the XL Pro does do a good job. The last new one I bought from Kellyco a couple of years ago was $324, but they aren't making them anymore. I, personally, wouldn't pay $500 for one, but it depends on what you want. I would probably buy a lightly used MXT for that same money before I would buy an XL Pro at that price. They are demanding a high price though. I would look around at some other options in the $500 range. Perhaps one of the Minelab X-Terra series, or maybe the newer Fishers like an F5, or F70, might be a better choice.

Again, these are just my opinions, and I'm sure others will have different ones.

Good hunting,

Re: White's XL Pro QUESTIONS????????

Ok...thanks! I found it in a local classified. I didn't know anything about the XL Pro. I'm relatively new to detecting. I've got a bounty hunter, and done very well with it the past two years....but if it was a good buy, I was going to see about getting it. I think I'm going to wait and just see what else comes along. Might even go buy a new MXT or something else....

Thanks again!
