TDI will get it done as a relatively economical solution vs. the Minelab GPX's. I have been a number of Culpeper hunts where experienced users of TDI machines have done well, but don't expect to just pick up the machine just before the Dig and expect success. You are going to have to put the hours in now to get used to its nuances. Frankly, if you have a decent VLF macine like your MXT you can have great success. I saw a kid who knew his MXT do amazing things vs. those who barely knew their shiny new GPX's. Knowing the nuances of your machine by accumulating many hours on it count more than whether the machine is a PI or VLF even under the challenging "red dut" conditions of Culpeper. Another machine to consider in the same price range is the Garrett Infinium, but I understand if you might want to stick with Whites.

I have tested the TDI SL and it is a Great machine for Relic hunting and it is Ok on Gold as well, If you have an MXT and the GND reads below 75-80 then I would use the MXT with the 12" Coil or the 15" Inch MXT Max coil but if the Ground is Any hotter the SL will pull ahead but if you are going to Hunt all weekend then buy one of the RnB battery packs or a pack of those Energizer Ultra-Lithium Batteries because the will give you a much high voltage and give you a much longer burn time, Where as the standard NiMh pack only lasts for about 4 hours 30 minutes, But apart from that they are a nice Light machine to use,

Hope this helps.
