Awesome deal, never heard of one for a hundred bucks. Congrats and HH

Whites say those where made in the early 2000,s....this one was 2003....go to the source if you want answers...:)

When I called Whites and gave them the serial # to the DFX that I bought a few weeks ago, I was told that mine was a 2005/2006 model???. Guess I should call again to confirm and find out what years the DFX was made. What I do know is that Whites supports their products, all of them. The guy I talked to said that they have repaired units that were from the 1960s. Buying a good machine is obviously important but having full product support is equally vital because as the saying goes; "nothing good lasts forever.":laughing7:

They are still making the DFX...its called the DFX 300 know...but its still the same DFX they started with...just put different names on them, like the one I bought was called the DFX Spectrum....found out it was not such a good deal at $100, Whites has mine now going thou it...they said it shouldn't be more than $200 to go thou and replace anything that's needs it...so $300 for a refurbished machine..i can live with that...

It was still a good deal as its the same as the DFX 300, the DFX 300 is just got the 300MM coil on it and as far as having to send it in I wouldn't if it was working fine. If the detector is operating fine then it isn't in need of repair, if it isn't broke then don't fix it. HH

It had a few problems that didn't show up for a few days...LCD had some lines...and it wouldn't run thou the start up steps..so I sent it in...

$300 for a basically new DFX is a great deal. By the way, I got a response back from Whites via email and found that my DFX was built March 8th 2005.

I think they told me the DFX I got was made in 2003...and it showed...its the reason I got it for $100...and if Whites can go thou it and fix it all up for $200....I will feel pretty lucky....
