Here's the scoop. I have the metal detecting bug. My wife and kids bought me an inexpensive Bounty Hunter this Father's Day and since then I've been obsessed. I purchased a Tesoro Sand Shark on July 4th that I use at the beach in the surf and wet sand. Found my first gold ring with it on August 7th!
I purchased this Spectra VX3 detector about a month ago from Myers Metal Detectors in Tampa, Florida to work tots lots, ball fields and the dry sand at the beach. I love detecting in the water and surf (I've been on the Florida Gulf Coast for 45 years so the beach is in my blood) so this unit is not getting much use. To give you and idea of how little use it has had, I just installed a new set of batteries as the original ones that came with the unit died. (this was just before the NiMh battery arrived). So it has been used about 10-12 hours. I'm selling it as I don't use it and to partially fund the purchase of an Excal 2 or Fisher CZ 21.
The detector and all accessories are in Like New condition. The only exception is the Eclipse 950 coil has minor scratches where I took off the coil cover to clean out the sand from the beach. The scratches are cosmetic and don't effect that operation of the coil. I want to be up front with this issue as that's what I'd expect from a seller.
Here's what you get. The unit plus extra coil and battery retail for $1390.00 (Kellyco prices). Save yourself a few bucks and buy this one. It's in fantastic condition.
