White's Prizm III
I just picked up a Prizm III a few days ago. I've found some clad coins in my backyard and a 44 wheatie. The problem Im having is the ID is not that accurate. I just did a test on my wood floors with a penny, quarter, nickle, dime and a gold wedding band. I was getting hits on everything except the dime (would only register if i took the discrimination off and it was coming up as iron), however, none of the hits were coming up correctly. A penny was coming up as a pull tab or a bottle cap, the quarter would come up as a penny, the ring came up as either a dime or a penny.

What gives? I changed the batteries hoping that would fix the problem but it didnt make a difference.

Any ideas?

Ohh I have the stock 8" coil, not the 9.5" upgrade.

Unless your wood floors on laid on top of concrete, there will still be nails, etc,in the runners and support beams.Take your coins outside where you know there is no iron or trash in the ground. And not on concrete because the iron stringers will interfere and no overhead or under ground elec cables. Then try it and turn your sensitivity down.
