I ordered a Whites M6 yesterday and what a surprise when it showed up today. The weather is so crappy here in southern Oregon it might be summer before I get to use it.
Myrtle Creek, I think there is gold down there somewhere. Might have thought about spending the extra $100 and got an mxt then you could have had the best of both worlds. Just my 2 cents. Looks like a great machine though. You will have to post a review and tell us how well it works.
Hi Earl,
I have a GMT for my gold hunting. Your right about their being gold in my area. I only got out about a 1/2 dozen times last year to nugget hunt. I got about 5 DMT's in my outings. I got most with a pan and sluice. Most of the gold in my immediate area is real small in size, so when I get a hit with my GMT it is quicker to just pan out my target than trying to find it. The GMT will find gold down to about 1/10th of a grain. That's like a 1/2 a flake, or about the size of fly poop.
I think your machine will work great for you . I like whites detectors, they are good machines. I had some relatives that lived in Myrtle Creek. Actually they were cousins of my parents and I don't remember their names but I am sure they are all long gone by now onto their just rewards. My dad used to work heavy construction and was a cat skinner. He worked in the myrtle creek area for a couple of years and told me stories about all the myrtle wood he would plow under with the cat he said he sure wished he would have known that myrtle wood was going to be so valuable in future years as he would have grabbed up a ton of it. Have fun with the new detector and be sure to post your finds. Yak at you later. PS I live out in the Christmas Valley area and if you ever decide to come to the desert let me know.

Good luck with the M6. Don't worry none about not having a MXT. Yours has the new curcuits and is more stable in bad ground. Yours will get the same depth if both are in the same area.
My buddy that sells White's detectors has one in his shop. I played with it for a little while the other day. It is really simple no bells and whistles but worked great the little bit I used it. It will air test on a nickel at 13 to 14" with the sensitivity turned to max. Good luck with it and let us know how it turns out.
