White's DFX day 2
Man took the DFX out for the second time and ran with it the whole hunt. Used John Harris's Custom Program 1 (audio Discriminate) but ran the AC Sensitivity full 85. Running it hot was not a problem since I'm used to using the At Pro with Zero Disc and full sensitivity. Man it is awesome for pin pointing coins, they are always dead center in the coil hole (using stock coil for now). The depth is right on too, it's so sweet to dig short of the target put the pin pointer in the hole and it starts going off with out having to dig to the sides. I started out hitting a newer field and found 50 plus clads, then went to an older part of the park and tried to get some older deeper stuff. In the clads they were running down to 6 inches no problem. Did find a mini spill of 3 dimes all stacked on each other at 4 inches. 2 were 1965 and the bottom one was 1964 D. When hitting the older part, I found a good signal at 7 or 8 inches turned out to be a 1821-1850 Chinese coin. Also found a Montana trade token at 11 inches. Plus dug some iffy signals to find bits of iron down to the 8 inch range. One thing I did not dig was bottle caps. The fields are loaded with them but didn't get any good repeatable on them. It was so nice. I ordered the D-2 coil and hopefully will have it for next weekends hunts. Still don't know if the At Pro goes deeper or not, need to use both detectors to check the same signal. Well thanks for looking
