Re: White's DD Coil

"Hey, Creepy Clown Guy." that was too funny,

Per Chris Rogers White's DFX Field Test report, which I may have seen on the Joan Allen M Ds Direct web sight in GB, the DD coil works wonders on the DFX. I know yours is a single freq machine, no pun intended, and the DFX is a dual but the principle is still the same. He tests his new prospective machines with a small hammered silver coin under a heavly mineralized rock. That put the DFX from a good detector to probably the best he had used at the time is the articles printing.

I'm sure you could google the article.

BTW, I like your clown thing, started laughing in Wally World the other day when I saw him on a DVD. Enjoy your posts too.

Re: White's DD Coil

I got one for my MXT and really like it. MXT and DXF use the same coil. Goes deep and covers lots of ground and still finds small stuff. I can find the small aluminum 'tongue' without the pull tab from a soda can and still find the deep stuff.

Use it mostly on the beach because not much trash. I can even use it on the wet sand on fresh water beaches. haven't tried it on salt water beach. Hard to find land locked areas clean enough to use it.

It is heavy though. I use a Sun Ray probe to pinpoint when using my standard and Shooter coil but sometimes remove it for the larger DD coil. On beaches you don't need a pinpointer anyway.

Re: White's DD Coil

Hmmm, maybe I can find someone around here that has one and give it a run before I make a purchase.

Re: White's DD Coil

Yeha, I obviously had the wrong coil size there with the 7" X 14". Do you have a website for detech, Vito? Or does anybody know of a largeer DD coil, preferable round, for the XLT? I ask because I used to hunt with an Minelab Explorer XS and I believe it had a DD coil on it.

af1733: Oh man, U hit me. :o

Seems there is no larger available than the 4 x 6 shooter for using with the 6.59 kHz machines. ???
Time to earn some money, White?s!?

By that I would consider to bother Jimmy Sierra with some questions bout the big foot for the XLT. I think they?re even DD?s.

Sorry for no better counseling. :-[

Re: White's DD Coil

I'll try out the Bigfoot. Thanks, Vito! Happy Hunting!

Re: White's DD Coil

Hey clown, I use a bigfoot with my XLT, and I love it. Lots of coverage, but only about 4" max depth. But, just think what you have found in those four inches. Oh yeah, pinpointing is super easy, but depth indicater is way off, but consistent. Well worth the money. Whites makes a 15" round coil for the xlt if your interested. C-ya, Wayne

Re: White's DD Coil

A 15" coil, hmmm? Wonder how the depth works on that one. Does anybody know what kind of depth you can look for on a 15" coil from White's?

Re: White's DD Coil

VWayne, is there a programming option for the bigfoot. The Eagle II SL 90 which was the fore runner to the XLT has an option called absolute which is just for specialty loops. Not sure about the XLT.

Re: White's DD Coil

I hunt with a guy that has the 15" coil on a UL-3 White's detector. It work like a killer but he almost needs help to swing it after half an hour. Pretty heavy!

Re: White's DD Coil

Crutch, I read something about the absolute value setting, and It only refered to pinpointing, and the bigfoot is already easy to pinpoint. Maybe though?

Re: White's DD Coil

I've been reading the input for the coils I have a DFX and just a short time ago I went with a Bigfoot I have to tell you this is one great coil I've been finding dimes at 7"-8" I can crank up the AC and Pre-Amp to four without any problems. My Dad (Whites) had a Large DD and he now has changed to a Bigfoot. If you can try one you may like it. The Bigfoot is just 2oz heaver that a stock coil, its harder to use in tall grass but you can cover some ground with it. Pinpointing takes a little to get use to but its easy to learn. . Now I remember why we should be afraid of clowns...anyway good luck..
