bought this 3900 for, $10. Someone on ebay is asking $51 for one that doesn't work. What would be a reasonable price? or should I let my grandson ruin it like he is known to do?

Please, don't be offended by my suggestion, it is none of my business and you don't know me, but if I may offer up an idea: why not "sell" it to him for the $10 you spent on it. It might teach him to respect his stuff if he put some of his own allowance or birthday money into it. If you feel guilty you can even make a deal with him, like if it is still working in a yr, Grampa will take you to the coin shop and buy you a $10 coin with your money. Please accept this idea as it was given, in the best of spirits.
